PRIVACY POLICY SouthernTrust Bank takes your privacy very seriously. We believe the confidentiality and protection of your customer information is one of our fundamental responsibilities. Accordingly, we do not disclose any nonpublic personal information about our customers or former customers to anyone, except as permitted by law. Such information includes for example; account balance, income, assets, payment history, and overdraft history. We collect personal information about you from the following sources: Information we receive from you on applications or other forms Information about your transactions with us, our affiliates or others including those companies that work closely with us to provide you with diverse financial products and services Information we receive from credit reporting agencies Information obtained when verifying the information you provide on an application or other form(s)
Accordingly, we will not provide account or personal information to any outside sources unless: You request or authorize such release in writing The information is required to process transactions on your behalf The information is required to conduct the operations of our bank The information is provided to help complete a transaction initiated by you The information is provided to a reputable credit bureau or similar information enforcement agency The disclosure is required by law, e.g., pursuant to subpoena, or by regulator request, etc. In addition, your personal information is restricted to only those employees who need to know that information to provide products or services to you, or to fulfill certain administrative duties within the bank. We educate our staff about the importance of confidentiality and client privacy, and require them to adhere to our policy. We maintain physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards that comply with federal regulations and state laws to guard your nonpublic personal information. SouthernTrust Bank may collect statistical information for the purposes of improving our services to you, our valued customer. Such information may include non-personal demographic information that may be used for advertising and marketing campaigns, the creation of new products, or the discontinuation of outdated products. When it is necessary to provide client information to a third party we will insist through written agreement that the third party adhere to privacy principles similar to those of SouthernTrust Bank.
